Learn to Canoe & Kayak - School Field Trip Program with the Nanaimo Canoe and Kayak Club & PacificSport Regional Training Centre
Dear Grade 4-7 Teachers,
Are you looking for a new and exciting class field trip? The Nanaimo Canoe and Kayak Club offers a 2 hour session or a multi-week program designed to introduce students to many different recreational and racing kayaks and canoes this spring. Here is your opportunity to register your class in a Learn to Canoe/Kayak program at the PacificSport Regional Training Centre located at Loudon Park on Long Lake in central Nanaimo.
Morning and afternoon sessions run May 26th to June 27th with times available to fit your schedule. The two hour sessions are $12 per participant and include all equipment and instruction. If you'd like to come down for a multi-week program to compliment your Phys. Ed. curriculum, please call us to discuss your needs. Class size is limited to 32 participants per session.
Classes are asked to provide 3 teacher/parent volunteer supervisors. Supervisors need not have any boating experience, although they should be comfortable in the water. Volunteers are asked to contact Ashley to schedule a date and time to come to the Club, where they will be taught basic paddle strokes and safety techniques and given the opportunity to try out the boats the students will be using.
Please book your school field trip program and volunteer workshop before Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008 and be advised that they are on a first come, first served basis and sessions do fill up quickly. Contact NCKC at the number below to book your programs today.
