The outrigger canoe is our most
tropical variety at the Club. Designed and used in Polynesia in
the past, these have become popular racing canoes on the ocean for
their stability and ability to surf waves!
There are a number
of adult teams participating with NCKC down at the Brechin Boat Ramp
outrigger location. Being so close to Newcastle, Protection and the
surrounding areas it's a real treat! You will be a part of a great group
of people where adventure and fun lie at your fingertips.
Watch
gulls eat their dinner of sea stars, eagles perched up in trees, a
friendly seal sneak up beside you...or albino raccoons scouring the
shores of the intertidal zone on Newcastle Island.
Did we mention races? There
are a number of local and regional events that our teams participate in
on the Island. In February, the NCKC hosts the Crazy 8's
Outrigger Event and the Shack Attack - both awesome events to check out.
