Each year in conjunction with the
City of Nanaimo, the Nanaimo Canoe and Kayak Club sets up a fun,
interactive booth at Swy-a-lana Lagoon in Maffeo Sutton Park for the
community to try canoeing and kayaking and celebrate Canada's Birthday.
For a small fee to cover insurance,
community members have the opportunity to paddle around in the
protected waters and learn a little about the sport. Club
volunteers assist kids and adults into and out of their canoes and
kayaks to make sure they experience optimal safety and fun on the water!
For many people, this is the first time they are exposed to the sport. We look forward to seeing you down there with us!
